Ted Baker History

Ted Baker was launched in 1987 as a shirt specialist in Glasgow by Ray Kelvin. The brand immediately asserted its quirky side by offering dry cleaning with every shirt sold. Due to limited funding, Ray marketed the brand though unusual ideas that spread by word of mouth. Two years later a store in Covent Garden, followed by shops in; Soho, Nottingham and Leeds. Ted Baker has since become a global brand, which produces men's, women's and children's clothing. The company also produces fragrances, eyewear and accessories. Ted Baker has recently released two mobile phones in the UK; the Ted Baker Button and Ted Baker Needle, in association with Samsung and HTC respectively. Ted Baker has a series of stores in the UK and the USA and is also present in leading department stores such as Selfridges.
