Billfold Wallet

The classic mens wallet style is called a ‘Billfold’, which refers to its folding nature. The wallet has a horizontal shape, with a space at the back for notes that folds over when the wallet is closed. An average Billfold men’s wallet has a width of 12cm and a height of 10cm, and has 10 credit card slots (5 on each side). It can fit into a trouser pocket, or the inside jacket pocket and is generally made from leather.

Billfold Coin Wallet

The Billfold ‘Coin’ Wallet is the same shape and size as a classic Billfold, except for an integrated coin pouch that replaces one side of credit card slots. Whilst some men like the convenience of a coin pouch, others prefer to keep their change separately (just loose in a pocket). The presence of coins in a wallet will create extra bulk, and can damage the structure of the wallet.

Slimfold Wallet

The slimfold wallet is a more compact version of the classic billfold men’s wallet. The number of credit card slots is reduced from 10 to about 6, reducing the overall size to about 10cm wide by 9 cm high. A slimfold wallet is ideal for a man who doesn’t want to carry a bulky wallet, and is particularly suited to formal wear. J.Fold Sports wallets offer bold and stylish slimfolds.

Trifold Wallet

The trifold mens wallet folds over 3 times, and is vertical rather than horizontal. The advantage is that it is more compact than the standard billfold, which makes it ideal when travelling or for a smaller pocket. The disadvantage is that it can become very bulky, and will more quickly deteriorate. Ted Baker offer a classic leather Trifold wallet called the Debaca.

Billfold with Window and removable flap

For the commuter, the billfold wallet with removable flap offers a very useful alternative. The wallet is shaped exactly like a billfold, except for a matching travel card holder that can sit in the wallet or be removed. Your Oyster card can be attached to your wallet for safe keeping, but can be removed and swiped over the ticket barrier without dragging the whole wallet. Calvin Klein offer a collection of wallets with removable passes from their CK Jeans collection.

Coin Holder

For the man who doesn’t want to put his change in his pocket or main wallet, the coin holder is the ideal solution.

Money Clip

For an elegant and minimalistic solution to your cash, the money clip is the best solution. Ideal for wearing with a suit, there is no need for any extra bulk
